2005 “Howahowa Project Okashi-na-tatakai” The Creation of Characters by: Mr. Zhang Xiaodong 2004 “Howahowa Project Kumoni-notte (On the cloud)” The Creation of Characters by: Mr. Zhang Xiaodong This is a story deep in the mountain in China. When Popo was enjoying riding a sesame dumpling, Popo-nee (her sister) came riding a cloud. Popo tried to get on the cloud, but sadly he failed. Unable to just look on, Popo-nee tried to get on it together with Popo. This time they made it and the cloud on which they got disappeared for away into the sky. 2004 “Ami Ishii Showreel 2004” I borrowed an armature from Mr. Nigel Leaach, a model maker of my acquaintance, and practiced animating it. This is a study rather than a work. ※An‘Armature’is a framework inside the puppet that is used for making model animations. Without it, it is quite difficult to make the puppet stable. ※ A‘Model Maker’is a person who makes pupetts and armatires used for creating model animations. 2003 “Ami Ishii Showreel 2003” I made this work during my attendance at The Three Month Bristol Animation Course, University of the West of England, Faculty of Art, Media and Design. I borrowed a puppet with an armature inside from the course. It was easier to animate it than one I made. 2002 “Angel & Devil” I made this work when I was a research student. The faces of the puppets are special, perhaps influenced by the design of Czech puppets. The devil wants to make friends with the mean angel. What will become of the two? 2002 “Study!
